5 Things for the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day

  1. You'll be more likely to recycle consistently if you set up a recycling area in your kitchen or utility room.
  2. Reuse or recycle as many of your empty health and beauty product containers as you can.
  3. Leave grass clippings on the lawn after you mow rather than bagging and throwing them away.
  4. After birthday and holiday celebrations, save gift bags and boxes, ribbons, and tissue paper to reuse.
  5. Invest in a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger for powering your digital camera, portable music player, remote control, and other gadgets.

Man DIED on septa

  • If I were from another country and I read the article about the man dying on septa I would feel bad and think that the people in control were careless. When a person doesn't respond and soiled his pants there apparently is a problem and you should put in a emergency pick up. That was careless to the deceased man and poor customer service for all passengers that boarded that train or bus.
    • Our society needs to change careless actions that could affect another person or family life. Our society does need to change because so many people die each day that we have coated to it and it doesn't affect people anymore as much as it use to or as much as it should.

Early childhood Education (Project Ideas)

Three years ago I began to volunteer at a daycare for community service hours for martin Luther King day and we had to talk about what we did and how we helped the community. Every since I been at the same daycare and helping the same kids and the new ones that come in as well. During the summer I'm there from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm to help out with the kids and to make activities and games for the kids to enjoy. Outside the camp/Daycare they also do some community things like tennis at Author Ashe, Swim lessons, and go to different playgrounds outside of Philadelphia.
As well as they learn new things and meet new people the counselors and myself do too. We go on a number of trips through out the summer. Every week they go on at least two plus trips a week. We also have spirit days on our rainy days. For my service learning project I plan to make a slide show of the things that take place. I also plan to explain the different activities that they do and the kids point of view on how much they enjoy their days there. Then I will present it at the service learning fair.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

This quote means to help change the world as Philadelphia would say "Go Green". If you want the world to change then be a role model for that change. If you wish for something to happen then be the first to take a stand. I believe this quote is for everyone that want to make a difference. Be a leader and do something different. So be the Change and watch the world change too.
